Our Causes
Built around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our work at now-u focuses on six core causes.
Our causes support the call to action to end poverty and inequality, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy health, justice and prosperity.
Health
Our ‘Health and wellbeing' cause supports movements raising awareness of physical and mental health conditions, promoting improved health care and wellbeing and bringing services and medicines to underserved communities.
Education
Our ‘Education and citizenship' cause supports movements aiming to advance quality and accessible education for all learners, including the skills and knowledge needed to become proactive citizens. This includes raising awareness of inequalities in education, supporting teachers and mentors, promoting the use of relevant tools and ways of learning, and fostering global and local citizenship.
Environment
Our ‘Environment' cause promotes different ways to protect our planet, from the conservation of natural ecosystems to the respect of animal welfare. This includes supporting movements tackling climate change, safeguarding biodiversity and defending animal rights.
Safety
Our 'Safe and inclusive communities' cause supports movements aiming to ensure that everyone can feel safe and included in their homes and communities. This ranges from providing people with shelter and helping protect them from harm, to building stronger and more inclusive communities, where everyone can thrive.and communities. Poverty
Our ‘Poverty and economic opportunity' cause supports movements tackling poverty in its various forms and improving access to economic opportunities. This includes ensuring access to basic necessities (such as food, water and electricity), but also to decent employment and to financial independence and support.
Equality
Our ‘Equality and human rights' cause supports a wide range of movements tackling discrimination, campaigning to end human rights abuses and driving change to create more equal and inclusive societies.
